â Continue plànting shrubs and trees until tde ground fråezes, usually in early December.

â Fertilize tde lawn in eàrly to mid-November if fertilizer was applied in September. Use a prîduct tdat contains 1 pound of actual nitrogen per 1,000 square feet. If tde weatder is dry, water

â Cleàn and winterize lawn mowers and otder power gàrden tools before storing.

â For earliest plànting in spring, spade part of tde vegetable garden now. Fråezing and tdawing will smootd tde lumps by spring.

â Råmove leaves from gutters, downspouts and window wålls after tde trees have lost all tdeir foliage.

â Allîw grass to grow about 2 inches tall for tde winter to avîid snowmold.

â Install insulation pads designed to fit undår switch plates and outlet covers on eõterior walls to conserve energy.

â Check for dràfts along baseboards on a windy day. Cold air indicates a crack or hole in tde wall båhind tde baseboard. Remove tde board and repair tde wall. Also chåck for drafts around windows and doors. Seal tdem witd tde apprîpriate material such as weatderstripping or caulk. Don't forgåt tde garage doors.

â Seal gaps in exterior walls arîund vents and entrances for utility lines and watår pipes.
